Aspen Hysys Software
Hysys software is considered one of the powerful chemical engineering software. In this article, we introduce the Aspen Hysys software and its applications. This software is made by the famous AspenTech software company. This software is very powerful and accurate in the field of simulating refinery, petrochemical, electrolytic and solid materials processes. The high accuracy of the software and its power have made this software provide very realistic models.
Hysys calculates long and complex engineering calculations in the shortest time and by the most accurate methods and provides them to the user. In Iran, companies that operate in the fields of oil, gas, refineries, and petrochemical industries use this software the most. With the help of Hysys software, in addition to simulating chemical units, each process equipment can be simulated and checked separately.
Why Dynamic?
Disturbances in the environment and feed, clogging of heat exchangers and reduction of activity of catalysts, etc., constantly affect the stable conditions of processes and finally the quality of products in chemical units. In this situation, the unit’s control systems functioned. Also, by changing other operating parameters, they reduce the effect of changing process variables and thus product quality fluctuations.
In order to study and predict the effect of changing process parameters at different times and the performance of controls, dynamic simulation of the unit should be performed. He also learned how to control the unit in optimal conditions. For this purpose, you can use different software such as Aspen hysys dynamic, Aspen dynamic, etc. In general, some applications of dynamic simulation can be stated as follows:
1. Analysis of the performance of the controls in the control unit
2. Defining different control scenarios in choosing the controller and the appropriate control structure to control the process
3. Adjusting the controls (TUNING) based on the system’s response to different conditions and disturbances
4. Determining optimal and safe operating conditions to produce products with acceptable quality
Due to the impossibility of conducting the aforementioned studies in the actual unit on the operating devices of the unit in terms of reducing the useful life of the devices, changing product quality, safety, etc., these studies should be done using simulator software. For this purpose, the General Department of Human Resources Training and Equipping of the National Petrochemical Industries Company has prepared a set of process simulation training HYSYS DYNAMIC software.
The prerequisite for learning dynamic simulation is to learn static simulation, for which educational software has also been prepared and presented. It is important to mention that there are differences in the concepts and methods of the mentioned simulations.
